January 1st 2021: All employers with 5 or more employees must provide 1 hour of training to all non-supervisory employees and 2 hours of training to all supervisors within six months of being hired and every two years thereafter.
All employers must complete harassment prevention training.
All employees, both full-time & part-time must complete harassment prevention training.
Training must be completed within 90 days of initial hire.
Training must be renewed annually.
While California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Illinois & New York, have passed laws requiring sexual harassment training, other federal and state laws, have made it clear that all employers should provide anti-harassment training to all employees in all states.
Many other states, like Florida, Colorado, Michigan, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Utah, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, and Vermont, have laws that “encourage” employers to provide such training.
If you do not train your staff and a lawsuit arises, the first question any court will ask is how well you’ve trained your team. Invest in your culture so that you never get to that point.
Task Force SubscriptionLorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. | ![]() |
